A medieval copper mining settlement, Røros charms you with its abundant history and scenic attractions. Olavsgruva Mine offers an intriguing glimpse of the town's mining history spanning more than 300 years. Bergstadens Ziir is the ancient church in the town which dates back to the year 1784. At the Smelthytta museum, the primary exhibition comprises functional small-scale prototypes that demonstrate the copper melting procedure and its production. Lift mechanisms, horse-ridden capstans and waterwheels are also exhibited here. For nature lovers, Røros offers a wealth of adventure activities including canoeing and boating.
