A prominent peak near the city of Bischofshofen, the Hochkönig belongs to the Berchtesgaden Alps in Salzburg. Its steep slopes with stretches of rocks make for a challenging climb. The peak is made of limestone and is frequented by mountaineers who traverse the many trails that lead up to it. The picturesque views add to the thrill of climbing the summit. There is a small alpine hut near the top that offers shelter to visitors.
