The Forge Mill Needle Museum in the town of Redditch in Worcestershire was established as an ode to Redditch's industrial heritage. Once an internationally renowned center of the needle and fish tackle industry, Redditch was known to produce 90 percent of the world's needles. The museum was inaugurated in 1983 by Queen Elizabeth II. It depicts the history of the needle industry with models and recreations of the process of needle-making and also conducts exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops about the needles' use in the textile industry.
