Pozieres Memorial is a monument that commemorates the death of South African and British troops during World War I. Located in the Somme region, this war memorial was inaugurated in 1930 and houses the graves of over 14,000 soldiers with no names. William Harrison Cowlishaw deviced the burial ground outline layout, while the sculpture is the work of Lawrence A. Turner. The memorial also has a small Commonwealth War Graves Commission and buries officials and Commonwealth servicemen.
