Alcalá de Henares

Alcalá de Henares dates back to the Bronze Age and was the only Roman settlement in the Madrid region after it was conquered in the 1st century BCE. It is the first University city in the world and among the pioneer bishoprics in the nation. It is known for its immense archaeology value and its center is listed as the University and Historic Precinct of Alcalá de Henares in the UNESCO. Some of the major sights are the Universidad de Alcalá, Cathedral-Magistral of Saints Justus and Pastor, Oidor Church, Archbishops Palace, Corral of Comedies, Plaza de Cervantes, Parque Municipal O'Donnell, Chapel of the Holy Ways, Casa de Hippolytus, Monasterio de San Bernardo, Torre de Santa María, Roman City of Complutum and Regional Archaeological Museum.
