Upper Mississippi Conservation Area, St. Louis, MO, United States, 63343
One of the largest rivers in the North American continent, the Mississippi River surges past the states of Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Lousiana, covering nearly 3,000 kilometers (1,864 miles) in the process. With its terminus being the Gulf of Mexico, this mighty river spans across 11.2 kilometers (7 miles) at its widest point, continuing to change in size, depth and flow as it continues its swift southward path. Its natural flow takes you under many picturesque bridges like the ones at Stone Arch, the Third Avenue, and Hennepin Avenue. As the honorary dividing line between the East and West, the iconic Mississippi river holds a dear place in the heart of America's history.
