TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, ENTERTAINMENT VENUES
The Schloss Clemenswerth is a beautiful castle located in the Sögel municipality of the district of Emsland. It was constructed by Clemens August I, the elector of Bavaria, in 1737. Designed by Johann Conrad Schlaun, the castle impresses its visitors with the Baroque style of architecture. Proposed to be a hunting lodge, it has a unique octagonal shape with the central manor and eight smaller structures. Now, besides being a popular tourist spot, the castle grounds are used as a venue for the annual cabaret festival known as Kleines Fest in großen Park, a museum and a private space for special events. The lush green lawns with ornate marble statues further add to the statuesque nature of monument. Overall, it is a historical place worth checking out if you're in Sögel.
