The Rastede Castle stands as a fine example of 18th-centuyr architecture with its mansard roof, brick facade and distinctive English style windows. Historically it is known for being the summer residence of the Grand Dukes of Oldenburg, it today functions as the cultural center of the town with classical music concerts, art exhibitions, workshops, theatrical performances and other events hosted here regularly. A treasure trove of history and heritage, it entertains visitors and provided guided tours at the additional cost of 1.50 euros to the ticket price.
