Boasting of an interesting past and a bustling present, the Deansgate is one of the main roads of Manchester. Passing through the city center, the road is touted to be the longest one of the city's center. Trailing along a straight path, the road has enjoyed a rich past as it is considered to be one of the oldest ones of the city. Boasting of Roman Age roots, Deansgate is named after the River Dene which has dried up over the years. At present, apart from housing various residential and official buildings, Deansgate also witnesses various sports and cultural events.
