Brienz

Set along one of the most scenic lakes in Switzerland, Brienz is a popular tourist attraction and hosts a continuous stream of tourists throughout the year. In summer, the shores of Lake Brienz serve as the perfect picnic spot for the entire family and a refreshing swim in the cold and clear waters is always welcome. The various nature trails that run across the village provide first hand insight into the rich habitat of the region, along with the importance of the historic structures here. Trips to the nearby Ballenberg Open Air Museum and the Brienzer Rothorn can also be easily made from here. The village is also mostly popular for its wood carving activities and is home to a one of a kind carving and violin-making school.
