Lac de Villegusien is located at an elevation of 300 meters (980 feet) in the Haute-Marne region of France. The lake is known locally as the Réservoir de la Vingeanne, as it is fed by the river Vingeanne. The western part of the lake also acts as a dam. The marshy lands that surround it attract a variety of migrating wader birds. Fishing and water sports are common in this lake.
