One f the most ancient communes in France is the Thouars village. This municipality, located in the Deux-Sèvres department has had a violent history, as many of its buildings and structures were burnt town by Pepin the Short during his invasion. Today, the town is one of the most well-defined villages in France flanked by beautiful Roman buildings that will transport you back in time. The Château des ducs de La Trémoille, Chapel of the château, Porte au Prévost tower and the Prince-de-Galles tower are some of its major attractions.
