A product of the imagination of Robert Mallet-Stevens, the architecture of Villa Cavrois was well ahead of its time. This mansion that can be safely termed as an epitome of modernity was built to commemorate the contemporary vision of its owner Paul Cavrois. Cavrois and his family had most of the modern amenities like telephones, heaters and vacuum cleaners at their disposal during their stay at this villa. Strikingly unique from its contemporaries, Villa Cavrois was constructed with the use of metal and marble. The villa saw a major facelift in 2004 post which it was handed over to the Centre des monuments nationaux. Today a variety of activities and events related to modern architecture are conducted on its premises.
