Megève

Megève is one of the most fashionable Alpine ski towns in Europe and among the first towns to be developed specifically for skiing. Famous among the nobility since the 1920s, especially the Rothschild family, the beauty of this town has to be seen to be believed. While a stay here won't come cheap, you have a decent chance of running into a wealthy noble or celebrity. You are surrounded by snow-dusted mountains and pines, quaint churches and squares, vacation chalets and fashionable cottages. Professional skiers and ice skaters have plenty of facilities here including more than 100 lifts and challenging trails. Numerous world championships in winter sports are held here too.
