El Torreon

The story of El Torreon begins in 1927 when it was first opened as a jazz club attracting the likes of Cab Calloway. The venue eventually transformed into a rock club and roller skating rink before once more returning to its roots as a concert venue, known as the Cowtown Ballroom. Today, El Torreon has been revamped as an all-ages venue for concerts and live music, and an art gallery, with an eclectic line-up of bands to boast. Punk, rockabilly, indie and other alternative genres are all featured here, creating a safe haven for the city's underground music fans. Although the venue now shares the building with the Bridgeport Community Church, it remains a haven for music lovers of every age.
