Initially the eponymous band of Andrew Roachford, the UK based four-piece Roachford scored several hits in the late 1980s, most notably "Cuddly Toy," a danceable pop-rock jam. The band format continued until 2003 when the band's primary singer/songwriter and namesake released his first solo album, still under the Roachford moniker. Since then, the London native has drawn on his roots in jazz--in his youth he toured with his famed saxophonist uncle Bill Roachford--and produced smoother, soft rock hits and adult contemporary ballads. In addition to his solo work, Roachford joined the ranks of Mike Rutherford's side project Mike and the Mechanics in 2009.
