Formed in Kingston, Ontario in 1987, Headstones is one of Canada's more popular hard rock bands. The band is led by vocalist Hugh Dillon, whose confrontational style and sometimes violent interactions with audience members often caused a stir in the group's early days. Headstones began with a decidedly punk rock edge to its sound that eventually began to give way to more alternative and hard rock sounds as the group progressed. In 2003, the band broke up as the result of two members becoming fathers and Dillon attempting to recover from drug addiction. In late 2011, Headstones decided to reunite, planning a handful of shows around Canada, much to the delight of its loyal following.
