Philadelphia-based outfit The Hooters is an indie rock band that uses elements of pop, folk and even ska to craft its sound. The band earned widespread commercial acclaim in the US and abroad after the release of its debut studio album Amore, in 1983, and kept up a steady stream of record releases until announcing a hiatus in 1995. After reuniting in 2001, The Hooters embarked on several successful tours of Europe and eventually entered the studio to records its first album since the 1993 LP, Out of Body. The band released Time Stand Still in 2007, and continues to tour internationally and issue records such as 2010's Five By Five.
