New York singer and producer Tecla is a unique figure in a musical world dominated by men. Tecla writes all of her own material, most of it inspired by dance music sounds like electro and house. On her self-released album Strangers In Masks, Tecla engages with issues of gender, sexuality and race, topics that rarely get the kind of personal focus Tecla is willing to give them. Tecla released a remix album titled Strangers Revisited in February of 2011.
