Vancouver-based producer Michael Tucker, who performs under the moniker BloodPop, started to gain prominence in the electro world in late 2010. With the release of his single "Heart," a tribal house track that sampled various world music instruments and laced them into chipper electro, followed by "Lasting Love," a collaboration with Los Angeles DJ Wet Look that presented a shimmery take on nu-disco house full of pristine production, BloodPop demonstrated his diversity and impeccable sampling. After generating a fair amount of buzz around his name, he released a debut mixtape in 2011.
