Wisconsin-born singer/songwriter Josh Thompson, despite his Midwestern roots, has managed to capture the down-south hearts of country pop and rock fans. His song "Beer on the Table" is his most well-known song, along with "Way Out Here," two songs that represent an unwritten code of ethics in both country music and (likely) Thompson's personal life. Thompson capitalizes on making blue-collar culture lighthearted, fun and self-effacing, a tactic many have worked to execute and only few have succeeded in. With his debut record released in 2010, and to much commercial success, Thompson will no doubt be mining the rich corners of Wisconsin living for years to come.
