Pippo Pollina is the stage name for Giuseppe Pollina, a singer/songwriter from Palermo, Italy whose reputation as a world-class musician would not reach his home country until much later in his career. Following an extended period of time wandering and performing throughout Europe in the early 1980s, Pollina ultimately decided to settle down in Switzerland to release his first album Aspettando che sia Mattino (Waiting for that Morning) in 1987 to much praise and critical acclaim. The success of his first album led Pollina to continue his career in Switzerland, and he would shortly become a singing and songwriting sensation throughout much of the German speaking world. However, Pollina would never forget his homeland, and in 1998 he would return to tour his music throughout Italy to audiences ready and eager to welcome the musician back home.
