Initially producing music akin to the other UK bands following the widespread post-punk revival, Wild Palms eventually abandoned sharp, angular guitars for warmer acoustics and mopey vocals for a slight falsetto, grouping its music more into a straightforward indie rock-meets-Britpop category. The London-based quartet also prides itself on poetic lyrics, that quote or reference the masters, and highly polished production--its debut album was produced by Gareth Jones, who has worked with the likes of Depeche Mode and Grizzly Bear. While the music of Wild Palms has been met with mixed reactions, the group has a solid following in its native country and tours there often.
