Clearly taking the majority of their inspiration from British rock and pop music of the early 1960s, the members of Deep Sea Arcade seem to yearn for the days when the sunny melodies of the Kinks and the Zombies were commonplace. The Sydney-based band formed when founding members Nic McKenzie and Nick Weaver met at school and decided to work together on a home recording project. Soon, the shimmery, retro-minded songs the two were creating led to a more serious devotion to the project, and McKenzie and Weaver began touring all over Australia and playing festivals in the UK. The band's attention to trying to recreate the vintage sounds and production techniques of the British Invasion era is bound to win over fans who still pine over 1960s rock and roll.
