Based out of Guildford, England, Sissy & The Blisters is a psych-rock outfit that formed in 2010. The four-piece seems to yearn for the days of dirty garage rock that was being cranked out in the 1960s. Intentionally raw production captures the group's blend of scuzzy guitars, psuedo-punk intensity and distorted organ lines in suitable fashion. Lead singer James Geard fronts the band with a detached, intense baritone that calls to mind the style of Ian Curtis, the late enigmatic Joy Division frontman. Decked out in their leather jackets and V-neck t-shirts, and thrashing along together in unison during their live sets, the members of Sissy & The Blisters certainly look the part while attempting to recapture the sound of early rock and roll garage styles.
