Becoming Real is the moniker of London-based musician Toby Rider. In his Becoming Real endeavor, Rider creates haunted sounding sonic landscapes peppered with off-beat rhythm accompaniments and the occasional vocal sample, courtesy of an underground English rapper. Influenced in equal parts by the London grime scene and the modern electronica movement, Rider is able to blend his love of different styles of music together in an original way. And if the 2010 debut LP is any inclination of the career trajectory of Becoming Real, the English musician is sure to make a name for himself in the future.
