Dead Western

Dead Western is an experimental indie folk band from Sacramento, California that has managed to take the oft-performed genre to new, surrealistic heights. Led by the consciously bizarre front man Troy Mighty, Dead Western would appear to be trying to communicate the nightmarish dreamscapes of folk music's subconscious, and by all accounts, it seems to be succeeding. However, despite Dead Western's apparent lack of popular appeal, the one thing that keeps Troy Mighty and his band relevant these days is their devil-may-care attitude whenever and wherever they decide to set up and perform--which could be just about anywhere.
