It Bites is an English rock band formed in 1982 in Egremont, Cumbria. The band is composed of Francis Dunnery (vocals, guitar), John Beck (keyboards), Dick Nolan (bass) and Bob Dalton (drums). It Bites is known for their melodic, progressive rock sound, which combines elements of pop, rock, and classical music. The band released their debut album, The Big Lad in the Windmill, in 1986. The album was a commercial success, reaching number 11 on the UK Albums Chart. It Bites followed up with their second album, Once Around the World, in 1988. The album featured the hit single “Calling All the Heroes”, which reached number 6 on the UK Singles Chart. In 1989, It Bites released their third album, Eat Me in St. Louis. The album featured the hit single “Old Man and Me”, which reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart. The band released their fourth album, The Tall Ships, in 1994. The album featured the hit single “Kiss Like Judas”, which reached number 15 on the UK Singles Chart. It Bites has released five studio albums, two live albums, and several singles and EPs. The band has toured extensively throughout Europe and the United States, and has performed at several major music festivals. It Bites has been praised for their unique sound and their ability to combine elements of pop, rock, and classical music.
