Capdown, formerly known as Soap, is a ska/punk rock band from Milton Keynes, UK that formed in 1997. The band's name is short for Capitalist Downfall, which explains the politically critical themes in its songs. Punk label Household Name Records released Capdown's debut album Civil Disobedients, in 2000, quickly followed in by the band's 2001 sophomore album, Pound for the Sound. In addition to their recorded work, the band has received critical acclaim for its sweat soaked and personal live shows led by front-man and saxophonist Jake Sim-Fielding. After two EPs and a final with Pierce Panda Records, Capdown split up in 2007 after a farewell tour that ended in its home town. In 2010, the band member announced on the Punktastic website that they would reunite to play the Slam Dunk Festival in London and Leeds. To the pleasure of its fans, in 2011 Capdown went on to play Rebellion Festival in Blackpool, Hevy Fest in Kent and Reading and Leeds Festival.
