Ian McLagan was an English rock musician and songwriter best known for his work as a keyboardist in the Small Faces and Faces. He was born in 1945 in Hounslow, London and began playing the piano at the age of four. He started his professional music career in the early 1960s, playing in various bands before joining the Small Faces in 1965. McLagan's career spanned over five decades and he released several solo albums, including Troublemaker (1979), Bump in the Night (1980), and Rise & Shine (2001). He also collaborated with many other artists, including Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, and Bruce Springsteen. His most successful work was with the Faces, with whom he released four studio albums, including A Nod Is As Good As a Wink...To a Blind Horse (1971) and Ooh La La (1973). McLagan's music was a mix of rock, blues, and soul, and he was known for his energetic live performances. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 as a member of the Small Faces and Faces. He passed away in 2014, leaving behind a legacy of great music and a lasting influence on the rock and roll genre.
