Bruce Molsky is a Beacon, New York-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who performs a style of old-time folk music native to the Appalachian Mountains region. Initially interested in various forms of blues music, Molsky became infatuated with old-time music after befriending famed fiddler Tommy Jarrell and spending time at his home in North Carolina. Absorbing all Jarrell could teach him, Molsky would go on to distinguish himself as a musician of bygone Appalachian folk material with a series of album releases beginning with his debut LP, Lost Boy, in 1996.
