Rea Garvey is singer/songwriter and guitarist from Kerry, Ireland who is most famous for being the lead singer for the rock band Reamonn. Garvey left Ireland and his band The Reckless Pedestrians in 1998 for Germany, where he initially worked for a t-shirt vendor at music festivals. After placing an advertisement in a newspaper looking for a band, he formed Reamonn with Mike Gommeringer, who had once seen The Reckless Pedestrians play and recognized Garvey's name. Outside of Reamonn, he has collaborated with artists such as Nelly Furtado, Paul van Dyk and Mary J. Blige. Garvey released his first solo single, "Can't Stand the Silence" in 2011, which demonstrates his willingness to experiment with both guitar and synthesized electronic music.
