Schandmaul

Combining medieval folk, rock and touches of metal, Schandmaul is a a popular German outfit from Munich. The group formed in 1998, intending to write music that would infuse modern rock with classic medieval era instrumentation, such as bagpipes and shawms. The results proved to be successful, as Schandmaul began to quickly find a fan-base that appreciated its unique blend of eras. The group's albums, including 2011's Traumtanzer, all chart very well in Germany, as well as in other countries in Europe, such as Austria and Switzerland.
