Hailing from Queens, New York, Mobb Deep is a hip-hop duo made up of Havoc and Prodigy. When the two critically acclaimed artists teamed up in 1992, they quickly rose as one of the most successful hardcore rap duos, particularly after releasing the landmark album The Infamous, in 1995. A heavy hitter in the East Coast versus West Coast feud, much of Mobb Deep's material from the 1990s came in response to tracks by West Coast artists including 2Pac and Snoop Dogg. After seven studio albums, including the group's 2006 release with 50 Cent's G-Unit Records Blood Money, Mobb Deep called it split up, embarking on an indefinite hiatus that lasted only until 2013.
