Over the course of its career, Floor has crafted a sludgy, stoner metal sound between several periods of inactivity. Originally formed in 1992, the band captivated an audience in its hometown of Miami with a series of 7"s and distinctive tone created with low-tuned guitars. After disbanding for the first time in 1996, before having released any official material, the group reunited and finally dropped its eponymous debut LP in 2003. With a pattern of breaking up and reuniting to for brief spurts to release an album or go on tour, Floor has created much anticipation for its live shows, which always, as rare as they are, draw massive crowds packed with heavy music fans from metal heads to punk rockers alike.
