Blackfoot is an American southern rock band that was formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1970. The band is composed of Rickey Medlocke (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Charlie Hargrett (guitar, vocals), Greg T. Walker (bass, vocals) and Jakson Spires (drums, vocals). The band has released nine studio albums, two live albums, and two compilation albums. Blackfoot's music is a mix of hard rock, blues, and country, and their lyrics often focus on themes of the American South. Their most successful album, 1979's Strikes, featured the hit single "Train, Train" and reached the Top 40 on the Billboard 200. The band has also had several other singles reach the Top 40, including "Highway Song" and "Every Man Should Know (Queenie)." Blackfoot has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, and has performed at major festivals such as Rocklahoma and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They have also been featured in several films and television shows, including the movie The Blues Brothers and the TV show Miami Vice. Blackfoot continues to tour and record, and their music remains popular with fans of classic rock and southern rock.
