The Allman Brothers Band

The Allman Brothers Band is often considered one of the greatest American musical groups to have ever existed. The band pioneered a unique sound that blended blues, rock and intensive instrumental jamming--unknowingly inventing a style of music that would come to be known as "Southern rock." The band burst on the scene with its eponymous debut in 1969, and despite losing members to death, the band still carries on, proving just why it is considered such an impressive and influential group.
