A dream come true for radio-friendly hard rock enthusiasts, Chickenfoot is a four-piece super group that includes Sammy Hagar (Van Halen), Michael Anthony (Van Halen), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Joe Satriani. The band formed casually after a series of jam sessions at Hagar's Cabo Wabo club in Mexico and first performed live in 2008 on the Las Vegas strip. The band uses the strengths of its members, such as Satriani's prodigious guitar playing and Chad Smith's funk-influenced drumming to create a version of hard rock that, while certainly not reinventing the wheel, will no doubt please fans of its individual members' more prominent projects.
