Dread Zeppelin is an American rock band that formed in 1988. They are best known for their unique blend of reggae and Led Zeppelin covers. The band consists of vocalist Tortelvis, guitarist Jah Paul Jo, bassist Carl Jah, drummer Ed Zeppelin, and keyboardist Cheese. Their debut album, Un-Led-Ed, was released in 1990 and featured covers of Led Zeppelin songs with a reggae twist. The album was a commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. The band followed up with their second album, 5,000,000 Dread Zeppelin Fans Can't Be Wrong, which featured more Led Zeppelin covers as well as original material. The album was also a success, reaching number two on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. Dread Zeppelin has released several other albums since then, including their most recent, The Fun Sessions, in 2017. Throughout their career, Dread Zeppelin has become known for their unique sound and live performances, which often feature Tortelvis in a King Elvis costume.
