Dredg is an American rock band that formed in 1993 in Los Gatos, California. Consisting of vocalist Gavin Hayes, guitarist Mark Engles, bassist Drew Roulette, and drummer and pianist Dino Campanella, the band initially gained recognition in the indie scene with their debut album Leitmotif (1999), which showcased their transition from alternative metal to progressive rock and art rock. Signing with Interscope Records in 2001, Dredg released their major label debut, El Cielo (2002), receiving critical acclaim and expanding their fanbase. They achieved mainstream success with Catch Without Arms (2005), featuring the single "Bug Eyes" that gained exposure on MTV. After parting ways with Interscope, the band independently released The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion (2009), which achieved their highest chart positions. Their fifth album, Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy (2011), received mixed reviews. Following an extended hiatus, Dredg announced their reunion in 2018 and have been working on new material for their upcoming sixth studio album, set to be recorded in 2022.
