Jill Barber is a Canadian singer/songwriter who has received praise for her unique style of laconic, acoustic folk. Raised in Toronto, Barber went to Queen's University before dropping out to pursue music full time. Winning Female Artist Recording of the Year at the 2005 Nova Scotia Music Awards for her debut album, Oh Heart, Barber's notoriety has managed to snowball significantly, attracting an ever growing fan base with her pensive songs.
