Formed in 1990, Marduk is a black metal band from Sweden that released its debut LP, Dark Endless, in 1992. Named after the Babylonian patron deity, Marduk typically features lyrics about an array of caustic issues including Satanism, death, Third Reich history and anti-Christianity. Having gone through a number of lineup changes since its inception, Marduk has nevertheless managed to maintain the bombastic flair and unrequited anger that first helped bring the group to prominence.
