Robbie Fulks

Robbie Fulks is a Chicago-based musician who is known for his outspoken criticism of the mainstream country music genre, despite the fact that Fulks, himself, typically sings and performs music that falls into the country genre. With a socially conscious outlook on life and an ardent respect for intelligence, Fulks writes songs with refined, ballad-like qualities that are oftentimes rare attributes to find in most country or western music. Country Love Songs, Fulks' 1996 debut LP, established the singer/songwriter as a formidable force and a quality listening alternative to country musicians who receive tons of radio airplay.
