Sugar Blue is blues singer/songwriter and harmonica player who has been hailed for transcending the limitations of his instrument of choice. After getting his start as a session musician on Johnny Shine's 1975 record Too Wet to Plow, he was introduced to blues guitarist Louisiana Red, who he paired up with for a tour and subsequent record, Red, Funk and Blue, in 1978. By the end of the 1970s, Blue relocated to Paris where he worked on several tracks for The Rolling Stones, most notably the 1978 hit "Miss You," and released his 1979 debut solo album, Crossroads. He joined Willie Dixon's Chicago Blues All Stars in the early 1980s, and continues to record both original and collaborative material.
