The Tacoma Rainiers is a minor league baseball team based out of Tacoma, Washington that competes in the Pacific Coast League's Northern Division. Founded in 1960, the organization has acted as an affiliate team to several major league ball clubs, including the Cleveland Indians, the Oakland Athletics and the Seattle Mariners. Having won its first of several division titles in 2001, the team has proven to be a formidable force in the Triple-A class, in addition to being franchise that fosters talented players who go on to have successful careers in the majors.
