The undeniable collaborative strength that exists between bassist Phil Lesh and guitarist Bob Weir has been apparent ever since the two first started playing music alongside one another in the Grateful Dead. After Jerry Garcia died in 1995, the two did not play as a united front for years, but the pair's dual passion for music was rekindled in San Francisco in 2009 and the two decided to form a band. Comprised of an all-star cast of musicians, Further plays songs of the Grateful Dead as well as material that Lesh and Weir have composed during their respective solo careers.
