The Twilight Singers

Initially formed as a side-project by Greg Dulli for the 1990s rock band Afghan Whigs, The Twilight Singers became a full-fledged group and the focus of Dulli's attention in 2000 when Afghan Whigs disbanded. The newly minted group found critical praise quickly for Dulli's introspective indie rock with a big sound bordering on chamber pop. While The Twilight Singers has been a rather loose collective, with different members contributing to each album, and while it has released new work at a fairly sporadic rate, the band has maintained a reputation as one of indie rock's greats--even further cemented when The Twilight Singers signed with the respected Sub Pop record label.
