TSOL is a punk band from Long Beach, California that is regarded for helping pioneer Southern California's hardcore punk sound. Founded in 1978 and adopting an acronymical that name stands for True Sounds of Liverty, TSOL released its debut album Dance With Me in 1978 and the LP helped establish the group as a premier death metal influenced punk act. Though the group has undergone a significant number of lineup changes over its decades long existence, TSOL has nevertheless managed to hold on to its characteristic hardcore punk sound.
