Björn Casapietra is a distinguished opera singer who was born in Genoa, Italy and grew up in East Berlin. The son of opera singer Celestina Casapietra and conductor Herbert Kegel, he grew up surrounded by classical music and the rich cultures of Europe. After spending some time acting, Casapietra pursued his passion, opera music, and released his self-titled debut in 2000. With each album since, he displays even more refined tenor vocals. Critics agree that this is best demonstrated on his 2008 album, Verführung, through Spanish zarazuela, Irish folk songs and Casapiertra's signature ballads.
