It can often be tough for bands to marry the worlds of pop and experimental music successfully. Luckily, A Horse and His Boy manages to create memorable indie rock songs without watering down its adventurous side. Originally formed as a solo project, the London, Ontario group has since expanded to a five-piece lineup that combines live instruments with a wealth of samplers, synthesizers and electronic production. Hints of electro, post-rock and moody 1980s pop can be heard throughout A Horse and His Boy's 2009 debut LP, which has helped the group find crossover success with fans of several different genres of music throughout Canada.
